Bureaucrats

Power & privilege: restrict / standardize

This gang try to order the complex world around them, in the hope they can control it. They create management and thought systems that contain and normalize. This can diminish our experience of the world and our ability to harness our interdependence and multiplicity.

Disrupt: How do you respond to complexity?

Reframe: How can we acknowledge our interdependence?

Coach: I train, motivate and assess progress. I’m a punisher, there is no gain without pain. Nothing beats a tested game plan to show them how it's done. I decide when others are ready or not, they proceed on my terms or not at all.

Clerk: I follow due process and make sure everyone obeys the rules. It's not my fault it's complicated. If my thoroughness causes delays, so be it, and don’t mess with me or nothing gets done.

Botanist: I foster natural talent, showcase traditional culture and document it. I protect their precious cultural knowledge, it’s for the best. It’s not a stereotype if I can prove it objectively. I do all the hard work to record their culture, and deserve credit for my research.

Critic: I know all about value and aesthetics and provide feedback. My judgement brings clarity to confused minds, there are too many opinions otherwise. Some work is just not good enough, if you can’t handle the heat get out of the kitchen. I know what's objectively true, like beauty, wisdom, science and love.

Thought Police: I keep it real and limit toxic influences. There are limits and it's best we use common sense. I remind them what’s good for them and what isn’t, not as a threat, just a proactive way to keep the peace. It would be chaos if I didn't restrict exposure to unsafe and unsavoury influences, who wouldn’t?
